HTML5 promised us powerful tools for creating and manipulating graphics in the browser, but it still has a long way to go until it can give us the level of control of the dedicated graphic engines. However, the ever expanding web app market is just too juicy to give up on for graphic programmers. There are numerous examples of successful web-based graphic tools already, so why not take it further and really push the limits of what you can do in the browser with just Canvas and SVG?
